The Licking County Eagles Special
Olympics organization is gearing up for
another season! The athlete, parent or
caregiver will need to attend the
registration/sign up days for each
individual sport. They are offering team
bowling, individual bowling, swimming,
and basketball, as well as track and
field. The first registration time is
for team bowling. Registration times are
August 6 from 2 to 4 p.m., or August 13
from 9 a.m. to noon. Registrations are
held in meeting room B at the downtown
Newark Public Library, at the corner of
West Main and South Fifth streets.
Practice schedules will be provided at
that time. For more information, please

Excel Academy has announced it will
offer a new Autism Spectrum Disorders
Program beginning this academic school
year. Excel says the ASD program will be
a highly-structured, intensive,
comprehensive program that is
individually-planned and coordinated
with the student, parents/guardians and
IEP team. The program will serve
students in grades K-12 (ages 5-22). It
will include vocational and transition
services, community collaborations and

Drs. Wing & Mack, DDS, have
been contracted through Licking Memorial Hospital to
treat children under age 18 for free or at a
discounted rate, depending on household income. The
clinic is held the third Monday of each month from 8
a.m. to 5 p.m. at the 1420 Dickerson St., Newark. To
set an appointment, please call (740) 344-7653. The
patient must be under the age of 18 and a Licking
County resident. The patient also must not qualify
for Medicaid, and must not have dental insurance.

had to be cancelled. Superintendent Nancy Neely has
scheduled an additional meeting for 6:30 to 8:30
